Julia Gabriele Sets Sail with Mercy Ships for a 3-Month Service Experience
In October, Julia Gabriele, St. Luke's Associate Head of School & Chief Financial Officer, set sail to Sierra Leone, Africa, aboard the Global Mercy — a hospital ship filled with state-of-the-art medical equipment and a volunteer crew of doctors, nurses, medical staff, technicians, teachers, physical therapists, and other caring people on a mission to bring safe, life-changing surgeries to those around the world in need of medical care. Julia will be working in the gallery and the on-board school. You can follow along with Julia’s adventures on her blog as she “finds purpose one potato peel at a time.” Julia will be back ashore on January 17, 2025, and we can’t wait to welcome her home to the Hilltop!
